API Maker - SheetLoad by Datascout International

Google Sheets to JSON (API) creator

We specialise in enabling data for organisations such as Government agencies, NGOs (Non Government Organisations) and other organisations (including small to medium businesses, not for profits and corporations).  Often we find clients wanting to create a simple API from existing data.  We have developed our API Maker product set.  Our first API Maker is SheetLoad – this initial version creates an API from a Google Sheet!

The great thing about using Google Sheets is that you can have multiple people access and update on your end and then have the API update automatically so tools you build (or we build!) such as websites or mobile apps can have that update in real-time for your customers.

Our build of SheetLoad was late January / early February 2020 and so we have leveraged the Johns Hopkins University 2019 novel Corona virus  spreadsheet as an example of SheetLoad’s Google Sheets to API function.  Turn spreadsheet tabs into APIs!

The Google Sheet which was maintained by John Hopkins University which we’re using can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1UF2pSkFTURko2OvfHWWlFpDFAr1UxCBA4JLwlSP6KFo/htmlview?usp=sharing&sle=true

(Note the Google Sheet was only maintained till February 10th).

The SheetLoad converts it to an API here: https://sheetload.datascout.com.au/v1/?preset=2019-ncov

Developers can use the API easily.  Here’s something to get your developers started:

curl --header 'Content-Type: application/json' --data '{"spreadsheetID":"1yZv9w9zRKwrGTaR-YzmAqMefw4wMlaXocejdxZaTs6w"}' https://sheetload.datascout.com.au/v1/

The documentation for SheetLoad is available via Swagger UI.

Try it out yourself or get in touch with the Datascout International team to find out how you can use API Maker and SheetLoad to enable apps and websites easily!
